From Chi-rish to New Mexicans

Thursday, March 18, 2010 was a big, BIG day for Greg.  The day before we went to a bar with John and Linda to celebrate St. Patrick's day and Match day.  We drank, ate food, and pondered the possiblities.  Here are our Chi-rish pendants:

Then it was home to bed (for me anyway, Greg went out for a a bit o pre-match madness).  Thursday's Schedule:
9am - wake up and anxiously think about the fact that the next five years of our lives will be determined in approximately 3 hours.
10am - head to Greg's fellow classmate's place for some pre-match (and very early) beers.
11:15ish - Walk over to Gino's East in downtown Chicago for the big event.  Did I mention the weather was unbelievable?  70 degrees and nothing but sun!!!  (it is, however, snowing today...)
11:30 - Arrive at Gino's East and enter a room with 100 nervous M4's and their families.  It was very packed as we made our way to get some pizza...I was getting more anxious by the second!
11:55 - Announcement made for all to gather around.  Directions include lining up to receive your envelope, getting a party popper, and WAITING until everyone has their envelope for a countdown.
12:05 - Finally, everyone has their envelope (and only a few did not follow rules and already opened them), there was a countdown from 5, lots of bangs from party poppers, and the envelopes were opened!  Here we come New Mexico!!!!!!!

The rest of the day consited of a bar crawl.  Greg and his buddies grabbed some champagne and cigars before the crawl.  Here are some pictures.

Now we begin the journey of finding a home in Albuquerque.  In addition, I need to get lisenced as a teacher in the state of New Mexico and search for a job.  A lot to do, but we are SUPER excited!!
